Dear family and friends,
The project: re-publication of Das Geschlecht Euler-Schölpi -Geschichte einer alten Familie (The Euler-Schölpi family - history of an old family).
First, let's say a big thank you to our donors! Thanks!!
We thank those who have monetarily contributed to the project. Without their monetary support, we would not have been able to produce the translations or the website:
Mikael, Jonas, Peter, Hans, Maria, Björn, Sandra, Robin, Urban, Antonia, Douglas, Bengt, Jonas (Bson), Emma, Patrik, Julia, Lars, Martin, Li, Love, Hans and Mineko, Hanna, Astrid, My, Leo, Markus, Birgitta and Agneta.
What follows below has been made possible by this group. In a way, this letter is an account of how the money has been used and how we see that what has been achieved should be able to live on.
Our project start
The book was published in 1955 and spread primarily within the Euler family. We believe that within the Swedish part of the family the book was spread to Hans von Euler-Chelpin's children and some grandchildren. Above all through the care and funding of Sten von Euler-Chelpin. The book was printed by Wilhelm Schmitz publishing house in Giessen. (The publishing house was discontinued in 1984.)
Doctor of theology and chief member of the Consistory Karl Euler is its author. He is presented in more detail starting on page 229 (Chapter IX)
Our story in history and into the future
The primary intention of our project is to give current and future generations the opportunity to connect with their relatives. It was also the start of our project - at a cousins' meeting among the Swedish branch, it was decided that the book would be translated into Swedish. Subsequently, the project was developed to include an English version and a German version (to make the original book easier to read).
The translations have followed the original book as closely as possible. Thus, the pages are closely correlated and nearly identical, resulting in some odd page breaks. But which enables easier comparisons between the versions.

In order to enable easy access to the books and their content of pictures and related paintings, we have created a simple web page for all Euler related family members and thereby give more people the opportunity to take part in our rich history: https://www.voneuler-chelpin.com
The three versions are now available on the website to download. A copy of the original book is also available - primarily to provide an opportunity to compare the translation with the original. Furthermore, as you will see, there are many links to maps, wikipedia and other sources.
Each chapter is accompanied by a pedigree of the branch that the chapter deals with. You can find these under the heading: Appendix-Pedigree.
Help us improve!
We know, at the time of publication, that many improvements can be made! You are therefore given the opportunity to suggest corrections and improvements on the website.
Periodically, we will update the books based on your improvement suggestions. In the same way, we intend to update the website
Build on your family tree
For this reason, there is a module on the website that we hope and pray you will use - it gives you the opportunity to connect to your family tree and build on it.
Digital and/or print?
The possibility of being able to print the book exists. We ask that you notify us of your interest and the number of books you want via our email. As a guess, a bound book including plates will cost an estimated €100-150.
You will also find a pedigree from 1774 in a reproducible format that can be printed/copied up to the original format of L150 cm x H100 cm.
The current task force is looking for more
Those of us who accepted the challenge to republish our family history are Bengt von Euler (Rolf o Rigmor von Euler's son), Mikael von Euler-Chelpin (Curt o Marianne's son), Hans (Sten o Britta's son) and Björn (Curt o Marianne's eldest son) with the assistance of his brother Hans. We are also looking for more people to help secure and develop the project.
The von Euler-Chelpin family association
We have reached our goal of producing translations and spreading the book and knowledge of the history of our clan. Now we are faced with a new exciting challenge to manage what we have produced together and ensure that our history continues.
A natural next step is the founding of a family association to manage and continue this initiative. Our vision is to make this association a focal point for our family, our history and its contribution to the general development. But also, to continue our Swedish-based family tree. Thus, the book is the starting point for our history description, and it is from this that we continue our Swedish part. The association can also welcome other family-related members as passive members as well as those interested in research.
Interim board
These people now make up an interim board of the Family von Euler-Chelpin Family Association - all with the surname von Euler-Chelpin:
President: Mikael
Secretary: Mineko
Cashier: Bengt
Members: Björn, Hans (L), Hans(S)
During the spring or autumn, there will be a call to our first meeting of the von Euler-Chelpin Family Association and thus the election of the regular board and formal adoption of statutes etc. under pleasant circumstances!
From the statutes: An active (voting) member can be any Legal aged person who has or bears the name von Euler-Chelpin, or anyone who is married to, lives with or is a child of such a person. Another person who otherwise meets the above criteria or who, due to kinship, descent or other interest, makes a request to the board in this regard can be accepted as a passive (non-voting) member. Association members pay an annual fee set at 400 kronor for the current period. Non legal aged members are exempt from annual fees. Legal age members pay half the fee until the year the person turns 25. Anyone is free to pay a higher amount. Instead of an annual fee, members can pay 20 times the current annual fee for permanent membership.
Please register!
You are now invited to register as members of the von Euler-Chelpin Family Association! You can do that on our website https://www.voneuler-chelpin.com
We have chosen not to make the website public but want it to remain in our family. Therefore, access is restricted with a personal password. You send us your details and in return you receive login details and password within 2 days.
The annual fee enables continued maintenance and development of the association's website and publication of new stories, digital meeting place, contact information and more.
Log on to https://www.voneuler-chelpin.com and make your registration and feel free to contact us via info@voneuler-chelpin.com
Best regards
